I have known lots of artists over the course of my life, lots of generally creative people. One consistent complaint I have heard is the frustrations around portfolio photography services. The cost is often out of reach for many artists, and attempts at DIY photography can have pretty mixed results.
Having picked up a camera a decade ago, I have dabbled in shooting friends artwork, and found the technical challenges associated with this photography challenging in a gratifying way. And what is particularity interesting to me about art photography is the interactions I get to have with creative people discussing their artwork. The ideas behind art can be as fascinating as the objects themselves, this work gives me a unique personal experience relating to creative folks.
As we know, everything costs money. Good camera equipment, studio time, all the odds and ends that go into producing a quality image add up to thousands and thousands of dollars. So my price points have to reflect the reality of production costs, and the time I have associated with the work. I want to make quality portfolio affordable to more people, to get more art out to the public.
